This has to be up there with one of my all time favourite commissions. Being asked to do a local Kent lifestyle photography shoot during lambing time on a farm!
Romney Marsh Wools wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for the Romney Sheep, who have been in the family for at least six generations, possibly more. Today there are around 1,000 Romney ewes on the farm and with one of the most adaptable fleeces – cream and semi-lustrous, apparently it is a firm favourite when it comes to knitting wool, yarn and cloth.
Visiting the farm, especially at lambing and shearing time, is such a welcome buzz of activity and I just loved photographing this farming family and their lovely sheep during this busy season on their Kent farm.
I love working with small local businesses, helping them to get noticed through lifestyle photography and Romney Marsh Wools is a great company to work with, using traditional farming and weaving methods to produce truly beautiful pieces. You can see what I got up to when I visited the Romney Marsh Wools weaving mill in Wales over here!
